It’s another rainy day in London and that makes it the perfect day for pizza! Pizza East is part of the ever so popular Soho House group, responsible for the likes of Dirty Burger and Chicken Shop. Pizza east has two locations, one in Shoreditch and the other in Notting Hill. As i’m sure you all know by now, Notting Hill is my favourite place in London, making the Portobello location an easy choice for me. The restaurant itself is designed in the typical ‘soho house’ style. A lot of wood and metal chairs with a quirky almost ‘barn’ like feel, featuring big glass water jugs and Cowshed products in the bathrooms (my favourite).
The food is good as expected from a soho house restaurant and surprise, surprise, the menu mainly consists of Pizza (no complaints from me). There are a few salads and some classic antipasti platters if you are looking to eat something a little lighter.
The pizzas are made on my favourite sourdough base and although they look quite small, they are very filling! The toppings are quite classic but delicious, which is the main thing! There is also the best chilli oil and dried chilli’s for those like me who can’t get enough of spicy food.
My friend had the macaroni cheese which was done in the oven (as it should be) and she said it was excellent..The cheese topping was crispy and the pasta was soft so there were no complaints!
All in all I would definitely recommend it and if you do go, order one of the pizzas! They are honestly the best I have tried in London, which I believe is due to the high quality of the ingredients and the sourdough base. But you will just have to go and see for yourselves..
